Crime is unrestrained by jurisdictional boundaries. The Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force was established to provide coordinated joint investigation of controlled substance crimes, gang activity and other felony-level criminal activity in northern Minnesota.
Member agencies include the Sheriff Offices of Beltrami, Cass, Hubbard, Koochiching, Mahnomen and the Police Departments of Bemidji, Leech Lake Reservation, Park Rapids and White Earth Reservation. Typically, each agency appoints 1-2 law enforcement officers to the task force. These agents work closely with other task forces as well as state and federal partners to build investigations.
A common theme. Individuals under the influence of drugs, looking for money to buy drugs, or negotiating with other criminals to buy or sell drugs have commonly become victims of serious assaults and homicide in our communities. Associated property crimes coupled with violence destabilize communities and threaten citizens right to feel safe. It is the primary goal of the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force to work closely with our communities and local law enforcement to enforce narcotics laws and promote greater public safety.

The Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force uses Flock Safety ALPR technology to capture objective evidence without compromising on individual privacy. The Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force utilizes retroactive search to solve crimes after they've occurred.
